One of the first types is called a card mechanic. They just look at the mechanics of the cards. They use the sleight of weight method to find who has what cards and so forth. This is the first type of card cheat. There are about five in all which we will further discuss throughout this article.
Then, there are those who manipulate the cards. One of those is called the base dealer. This is known as the second dealer as well. Then, there are those who mark cards. These cheats are known as the paper player. Also, you have those who switches card. This person is known as the hand mucker to those who categorize the poker cheats. Then there are those who hold out on cards. This would be known as the machine player.
When one looks at those who cheat there is another type of categorization of cheating at poker as well. They can be broken down among those who use minimal skill methods. This means that they don’t have to put much thought into it at all. There are a few things that people do and you don’t have to do too much in order to do this. One thing you might do is short the pot. Something else that you might do might be avoiding the house fees. Others have been caught peeking at other player’s cards.
Then there are those that are more skilled. These are the ones we talked about at the beginning of this article. These think throughout the whole game about ways that they can cheat. Some count cards and some try to sneak cards in of their own deck. These are called skilled because of the thought that goes into how they are going to execute these plans. Some of these people actually get caught. Some of them go into the casinos such as Bellagio and actually use these methods. Some of them get by with it and the people at the casinos never even know what they are doing. The only way that they know something is going on, is when they see this person winning left and right and then they know that something is up because no one can be that lucky.
